This is my most recent work. I've long been fascinated by life drawing, but also by different kinds of paper, and the effects to be achieved by cutting and tearing them. These works all contain an element of 3D relief, being torn, cut-out and mounted some distance away from the (usually white) background. This creates a layering effect, in which the shadows created by the cut edges are an integral part of the picture. They're notoriously difficult to photograph and, of all my work, these are the images which most cry out to be seen in real life!
In creating this virtual Collage Factory I have placed small thumbnails over some of my favourite kinds of paper. Click on the thumbnails to see a larger version. For some of the images you can see a still larger version (by clicking the "download" button beneath) to help you see the image more clearly.

Most of these works were exhibited in 2004 as part of West Berkshire open studios, but I feel they do need a more public exhibition.
If you are (or know of) a gallery who might be interested in this, or if you'd simply like to see more of the work, do please get in touch, and we can arrange a time for you to visit my studio.
