I really love your silhouette resource pages. I am researching silhouettes for a family program I'm doing at the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco, and this was a great resource for me. I wonder, have you heard of Kara Walker? She is a contemporary artist that works with really provacative silhouettes, and would be an interesting addition to your Silhouette Parlour.

This is my first visit to you ab-fab site and I'm truly impressed with your skills as well as the variety of styles shown in your silhouettes! One example: your rained-out balloon launch had me mesmerized -- the individuals show so much personality and their blocky bodies project the wistful emotions they must have felt as they waited in vain for the rain to stop. That was not the only one to hold my attention as I examined every detail, but this note is running long enough as it is!
As a youngster, I read from a series of biographies focused on the famous, person's childhood. The illustrations were all silhouettes (no highlighting, but very evocative of the person, setting, and activity). Ever since then I've been a major fan of silhouette illustration and am enchanted by your work. By the way, the only reason I didn't check off more areas visited is that I haven't gotten to them yet! I'll have to come back for that as it's now past 2am (I think I must have been here an hour just looking at the Samples section) and don't have time to do justice to your mystery tour of the silhouette parlor wall hangings. :-)
