The Firebird (with doors open)

The Firebird. Approx 7 feet high, and just over 8 feet wide. Oil and Wax on carved wooden panels. The panels were constructed in 1987, the peice was last re-worked in 1996. In between that time it went through various stages. It has been exhibited four times, twice in London and also in Reading and Yorkshire, but never twice in quite the same state! I still couldn't say for certain that it is finished, although I have no immediate plans to re-work it again.

This view shows the "wings" open, the bird soaring.
