This shows some of the detail that Baron used to add to the middle of his silhouettes using his scissors. The cuts all go in from the outside of the paper to take out highlights and other details. Some details of hair have been added by pen at the back of the head, but all the grey lines on her hair and body (which look like pencil marks) are in fact scissor cuts, cut right in from the outside of the paper. I would like to have seen the artist at work, to see what the silhouette looked like before he pasted it onto the card. There isn't much paper left to hold it all together! I think the hands are particularly well done on this silhouette.
